About Us

The Leamington Spa Library of Things has been set up by Maurice Herson, who had previously launched a similar initiative in Oxford (SHARE Oxford). After moving to Leamington, he was determined not to do it all over again – but found himself missing the sense of community and shared purpose that comes with a Library of Things, and felt the town could really benefit.

We’re now proud to be the second Library of Things in Warwickshire (after Rugby), part of a growing movement of over 100 schemes across the UK helping people share rather than buy.

As Maurice puts it: “Most of us have cupboards or garages full of things we hardly ever use… The Library of Things is a simple idea that just makes sense: instead of everyone buying, storing and eventually throwing away the same items, we share them.

It saves people money, frees up space at home, and reduces waste at the same time.”

We’re based at the Leamington EcoHub on Bedford Street, sharing a commitment to helping people live more sustainable lifestyles, think about their consumer habits, support nature, and build resilience to climate change.
